JobDescription and Person Specification


Purpose: To contribute to – and share responsibility for - the efficient running of our office. To work as part of our team to promote and support the development of Rugby Credit Union.

Responsible to: The Office Manager and in turn to the Chairman of Rugby Credit Union or person nominated by the Board.

Location: The post is based in our Albert Street office (Rugby)

Hours: Five hours per week, with additional hours available for staff cover and overtime.

Salary: £11.20per hour


Job Description – Main Duties

To provide administrative assistance as follows:  

  1. General administrative duties include opening and dealing with incoming post, data entry and filing.
  2. To update and maintain records on our internal bespoke banking system, including daily internet banking.
  3. Open and close new member accounts as required.
  4. To undertake money handling, including cash withdrawals and cheque / cash deposits.
  5. To complete timely and accurate bank transfers.
  6. Deal with correspondence and general enquiries, by offering a professional service to new and existing members in both face to face and telephone enquiries.
  7. To work in accordance with Confidentiality and Data Protection legislation.
  8. Monitor and report any health and safety issues to the board as appropriate.
  9. Ensure the office is kept tidy and paperwork placed in files at the end of each day.
  10. Undertake other appropriate tasks within the scope of the post at the direction of the Office Manager.
